Objectives

The overall objective of the MEDIET4ALL project is to facilitate the shift from ultra-processed food culture to a modern and sustainable Mediterranean Diet (MEDIET), and to encourage adherence to its lifestyle across all age groups in modern societies.

Understanding of the consumer behavior and the representation of MEDIET and identifying the initial adherence rate to MEDIET and the sociodemographic, socioeconomic and cultural determinants throughout a multicenter survey-based study.

Promoting the convenience (e.g., accessibility and availability in the market), modernity (adaptability to modern trends), and competitivity of MEDIET, while preserving their low processing, highly nutritional, and eco-friendly characteristics.

Creating a comprehensive “MEDIET4ALL” platform to enhance the farm-to-fork strategy, establish multicenter MEDIET supply chains, and offer affordable ingredients for improved competitiveness and sustainability. Additionally, developing a mobile app (m-app) as a smart MEDIET and lifestyle coach, delivering tailored MedLifestyle programs combining MEDIET with physical, psychosocial, and cultural activities.

Implementing traditional and technology-based awareness and motivational campaigns with extensive marketing and advertising actions to promote MEDIET4ALL culture.

Testing the acceptability and efficacy of these multidimensional MEDIET4ALL approaches and innovative solutions in promoting MedLifestyle adherence and user’s physical and mental health status, at all age groups, throughout multicenter interventional case-studies.

IMPACT 1

The development of modern Mediterranean diet guidelines and fostering new business modules via a variety of value-added products, tailored to markets and consumers needs. These products will be offered in attractive, accessible, affordable, and durable formats, while preserving their low processing, high nutritional value, and eco-friendly characteristics.

The promotion of Mediterranean diet and Lifestyle, along with highlighting their benefits at all levels through traditional and technology-based motivational and awareness campaigns, as well as extensive marketing and advertising actions.

The improvement of the health of Mediterranean individuals, such as reducing obesity rates and other diet-related non-communicable diseases, by increasing their adherence to the  Mediterranean diet and adopting an active lifestyle.
